Quality Assurance

Defense Technologies, Inc. (DTI) defines Quality Assurance (QA) as a planned and systematic set of activities designed to assure that the methods, procedures, and standards put in place to achieve quality are appropriate and followed.

DTI’s established plan ensures that DTI QA procedures and inspections are conducted during all phases of engineering processes. Concerns over or deviations from these methods, procedures, and standards are reported to project / program management for action. Our standardized quality assurance processes comply with current Federal and commercial standards.
Our quality assurance methodology is based on the following concepts:

  • Quality products are derived from quality processes.
  • Quality is defined as meeting or exceeding customer needs.
  • Continual process improvement is the key to increasing quality.
  • Those closest to the work are best suited to identify improvements in the process.

This QA plan also is based on the following quality, management, and engineering principles:

Quality
Principles
- To the extent possible, prevent defects from being introduced.
- Ensure defects are detected and corrected as early as possible.
- Establish and eliminate the causes as well as the symptoms of defects.
- Independently audit work for compliance with standards and procedures.
Management
Principles

- Define roles and responsibilities.
- Plan the work.
- Track progress against the work plans and take necessary corrective action.
- Progressively refine the plans.

Engineering
Principles

 - Analyze the problem before developing the solution.
- Break complex problems into several less complex ones.
- Perform self-inspection.
- Follow established procedures and look for process improvement opportunities.
