History

Defense Technologies Inc (DTI) is a Veteran Owned Small Business established in 2003. DTI is a software development and technology integration firm supporting such Department of Defense clients as Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Special Operations Command (SOCOM), Army Research Laboratory (ARL), as well as National Homeland Defense Agencies and Civilian First Responder network.

DTI maintains facilities in four states currently. The Gastonia, North Carolina facility includes a Software Development and Testing Laboratory, Electronics Obsolescence Laboratory, a fully equipped Simulation Laboratory, an Intelligent Autonomy Laboratory and Fabrication Facility. The Lexington Park, MD facility includes a Software Development and Testing Laboratory, a fully equipped Simulation Laboratory, and provides modeling, rapid prototyping, and manned and unmanned vehicle systems integration. The Maryland office is home to the FAA certified UAS Flight Operations, one of the first UAV systems to be approved for flight in national airspace. DTI also maintains simulation, ground station and UAV equipment in the NAVAIR Unmanned Systems Research and Development Laboratory (USRDL) at Patuxent River, MD. To better assist the United States Special Operations Command and the SOF community, DTI’s Operations Complex is located in Tampa, FL. The Bennettsville, SC office located at the Marlboro County Jetport is the program office for ongoing Special Operation Forces task.

DTI Software Development personnel support a variety of Department of Defense engineering services, in both strategic and tactical oriented efforts, including;

  • Command and Control (C2) systems development and Open Source integration efforts related, but not limited, to Unmanned Air, Ground, and Sea Surface Systems
  • Unmanned Systems (US) Research and Development (R&D) support.
  • Engineering and Process Engineering support.
  • Unmanned Systems modeling, simulation, and analysis support.
  • Human Systems Test and Evaluation.
  • Unmanned Systems Operational Teams and DoD/First Responder Tactical Training.

DTI personnel supports obsolescence management through Command and Control technology upgrade projects in the fields of;

  • Military sensor technologies.
  • Signal distribution and display systems.
  • LAN/WAN topologies.

Included in these efforts are the design, development, test & evaluation, and implementation of various engineering changes requested by Department of Defense agencies for existing or new technologies. These technologies are to be employed by individual commands and joint strike forces. DTI engineering support includes;
